This Act is the Harmful Digital Communications Act . and Part 2 come into force on the day after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent. The rest of this Act comes into force on the earlier of— a date appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council; and 2 years after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent. One or more Orders in Council may be made under appointing different dates for different provisions. The purpose of this Act is to— deter, prevent, and mitigate harm caused to individuals by digital communications; and provide victims of harmful digital communications with a quick and efficient means of redress. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— means anyone who makes an application under means an application to a District Court under
