This Act is the Electronic Identity Verification Act . (except ) and come into force on a date appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council and 1 or more Orders in Council may be made appointing different dates for different provisions and for different purposes. Any provisions of that are not in force on the day that is 12 months after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent come into force on that day. The rest of this Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. The purpose of this Act is to facilitate secure interactions (particularly online interactions) between individuals on the one hand and participating agencies on the other.
