This Act is the Education (National Standards of Literacy and Numeracy) Amendment Act . This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. This Act amends the Education Act 1989. Section 60A is amended by inserting the following paragraph after paragraph (b): national standards, which are standards for literacy and numeracy applicable to all students in an age or year group: Section 87(2) is amended by adding the following paragraph after paragraph (e): a statement in which schools provide an analysis of the progress of students measured against any national standard in literacy and numeracy published under section 60A(ba).
