This Act is the Habeas Corpus Amendment Act . This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. This Act amends the Habeas Corpus Act 2001 (the ). Replace section 8(a) with: the chief executive of the department for the time being responsible for the administration of the Corrections Act 2004, if the detained person is alleged to be illegally detained in a corrections prison; or In section 9(1), after insert considers that the circumstances require otherwise .
