This Act is the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (Monetary Policy) Amendment Act . come into force on the day after the date of Royal assent. The rest of this Act comes into force on the earlier of the following dates: a date appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council: 1 April 2019. This Act amends the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1989 (the ). Replace section 1A(1) with: The purpose of this Act is to promote the prosperity and well-being of New Zealanders, and contribute to a sustainable and productive economy, by providing for the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, as the central bank, to be responsible for— formulating and implementing monetary policy directed to the economic objectives set out in , while recognising the Crown’s right to determine economic policy; and promoting the ma
