This Act is the Grocery Industry Competition Act . This Act comes into force on the 14th day after Royal assent. However, comes into force— on a single date set by Order in Council; but 9 months after Royal assent, if that section has not commenced by then. An Order in Council made under this section is secondary legislation ( of the for publication requirements). The purpose of this Act is to promote competition and efficiency in the grocery industry for the long-term benefit of consumers in New Zealand.
