This Act is the Education (Freedom of Association) Amendment Act . This Act comes into force . This Act amends the Education Act 1989. The purpose of this Act is to uphold students’ rights to freedom of association, by removing any requirement for students to join students associations. Section 171(2) is amended by repealing paragraph (e) and substituting the following paragraph: at least 1, but not more than 3, persons who must be appointed following an election (conducted in accordance with statutes made by the council) by the students at the institution: This Act binds the Crown. substituted repealed and the following substituted: No person, including any tertiary institution or any association of students, may require any student or exert undue influence on any student— to become or no
