This Act is the Broadcasting (Games of National Significance) Amendment Act . This Act comes into force 3 years after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. This Act amends the Broadcasting Act 1989 (the ). After section 36(1)(a)(ii), insert: promoting the live broadcast of New Zealand sport; and promoting sporting games and events of national significance; and After section 36(1)(c)(v), insert: people without access to subscription based sport; and After section 37(d), insert “; and”, and: ensure that the games of national significance listed in are broadcast live and free-to-air. After Schedule 1, insert the set out in the Schedule of this Act.
