This Act is the Human Rights (Prohibition of Discrimination on Grounds of Gender Identity or Expression, and Variations of Sex Characteristics) Amendment Act . This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. This Act amends the Human Rights Act 1993 (the ). After section 21(1)(a), insert: gender identity or expression, which means the self-identified gender, name, pronoun, appearance, mannerisms or other gender-related characteristics of a person, with or without regard to the person’s assigned sex at birth: variations of sex characteristics: Amend the principal Act as set out in the Schedule.
