This Act is the Social Security (Benefit Review and Appeal Reform) Amendment Act . This Act comes into force 3 months after the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. This Act amends the Social Security Act 1964. The purpose of this Act is to make provision for a benefit review process that is fair, and independent of the department that is, with the authority of the Prime Minister, for the time being responsible for the administration of the principal Act. is amended by omitting and substituting to apply . Section 10A( ) to ( ) are repealed. The principal Act is amended by inserting, after section 10A, the following sections: A person to whom section 10A applies may make an application for a review of a decision by giving an application that complies with to the chief e
