This Act is the Crown Minerals (Prohibition on Coal Mining) Amendment Act . This Act comes into force on 1 January 2025. This Act amends the Crown Minerals Act 1991. After section 23A(2), insert: However, despite anything to the contrary in this Act, a person must not apply for a prospecting permit for coal, an exploration permit for coal, or a mining permit for coal under this Act in respect of any land. After section 25(2A), insert: The Minister must not grant a prospecting permit for coal, an exploration permit for coal, or a mining permit for coal under this Act in respect of any land. After section 32(8), insert: of Schedule 1 (which applies to applications for subsequent permits). In Schedule 1,— insert the Part set out in the Schedule of this Act as the last Part; and make all neces
