This Act is the Christ Church Cathedral Reinstatement Act . This Act comes into force on the day after the date of Royal assent. This Act fulfils part of the Government’s offer to support the reinstatement of the Cathedral. The proposed reinstatement is the culmination of a long period of facilitation, negotiation, and investigations, and is intrinsically linked to 2 key reports facilitated by the Government, including the CWG Report. The purpose of this Act is to facilitate reinstatement of the Cathedral . to facilitate reinstatement in an expedited manner compared with processes and requirements outside this Act; or to provide a cost-effective process for reinstatement compared with processes outside this Act; or to achieve earlier or greater certainty for the owner of the Cathedral and
