This Act is the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (Hazardous Substances Assessments) Amendment Act . This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. This Act amends the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996. After section 20A, insert: If the Authority makes a decision under Part 5 or 6A in respect of any application (including a request under section 62), the Authority must— give its decision in writing, including reasons for the decision; and give of the decision to the applicant and every person who made a submission; and give public notice of the decision as soon as practicable after the decision is made.
