This Act is the Deposit Takers Act . of and of come into force on the day after the date of Royal assent. The rest of this Act comes into force on a date or dates set by Order in Council. Any part of the Act that has not come into force by the anniversary of Royal assent comes into force then. An Order in Council made under this section is secondary legislation ( Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019 for publication requirements). The main purpose of this Act is to promote the prosperity and well-being of New Zealanders and contribute to a sustainable and productive economy by protecting and promoting the stability of the financial system.
