This Act is the Courts (Remote Participation) Act . This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— , or , in relation to a participant's appearance at any proceeding, means facilities that enable both audio and visual communication between participants, when some or all of them are not physically present at the place of hearing for all or part of the proceeding means any proceedings in a court, other than criminal proceedings has the same meaning as in section 2(1) of the District Courts Act 1947 means a New Zealand court means the Court of Appeal of New Zealand constituted under Part 2 of the Judicature Act 1908 means any matter, in a criminal proceeding, in respect of which no evidence is to
