This Act is the Climate Change (New Zealand Superannuation Fund) Act . This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. Sections 5 to 8 amend the New Zealand Superannuation and Retirement Income Act 2001. The purpose of this Act is to require the Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation to consider climate change and environmental sustainability as important criteria for prudent, ethical investment.
