This Act is the Customs and Excise (Prohibition of Imports Made by Slave Labour) Amendment Act . This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. This Act amends the Customs and Excise Act 1996 (the ). The purpose of this Act is to prohibit the importation of goods made in whole or in part by slave labour. In section 2(1), insert in its appropriate alphabetical order: means labour by persons over whom any or all of the powers attaching to the right of ownership are exercised In Schedule 1, after the second item, insert: Goods manufactured or produced wholly or in part by slave labour.
