This Act is the Criminal Cases Review Commission Act . This Act comes into force on a date appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council, and 1 or more Orders in Council may be made bringing different provisions into force on different dates. To the extent that it is not previously brought into force under , the rest of this Act comes into force on 1 July 2020. The purpose of this Act is to establish an independent body to review criminal convictions and sentences and decide whether to refer them under the Act to an appeal court.
