This Act is the Compensation for Live Organ Donors Act . This Act comes into force on the earlier of— a date appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council; and the first anniversary of the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent. The purpose of this Act is to remove a financial deterrent to the donation of organs by live donors.
