This Act is the Sentencing (Aggravating Factors) Amendment Act . This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. This Act amends the Sentencing Act 2002. Section 4(1) is amended by inserting the following definition in its appropriate alphabetical order: means an officer as defined in section 3(1) of the Corrections Act 2004 Section 9(1) is amended by inserting the following paragraph after paragraph (f): that the victim was a constable, or a prison officer, acting in the course of his or her duty: that the victim was an emergency health or fire services provider acting in the course of his or her duty at the scene of an emergency: Section 9 is amended by inserting the following subsection after subsection (4): In , means a person who has a legal
