This Act is the Health (Fluoridation of Drinking Water) Amendment Act . This Act comes into force on the 28th day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. This Act amends the Health Act 1956 (the ). After section 2, insert: The transitional, savings, and related provisions set out in have effect according to their terms. After Part 5, insert: The purpose of this Part is to— enable the Director-General to direct a local authority to add fluoride or not to add fluoride to drinking water supplied through its local authority supply; and require the local authority to comply with the direction.
