This Act is the Regulatory Standards Act . This Act comes into force on . However, comes into force on a date or dates set by Order in Council. Any part of the Act that has not come into force by comes into force then. An Order in Council made under this section is secondary legislation ( Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019 for publication requirements). The purposes of this Act are to— promote the accountability of the Executive to Parliament for— the development of high-quality legislation; and the exercise of stewardship over regulatory systems; and support Parliament’s ability to scrutinise Bills; and support Parliament in overseeing and controlling the use of delegated powers to make legislation ( Part 5 of the Legislation Act 2019).
