This Act is the Building Amendment Act . come into force 6 months after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent. come into force on a date appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council; and 1 or more Orders in Council may be made appointing different dates for different provisions. The rest of this Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. This Act amends the Building Act 2004. The purpose of this Act is to reduce the compliance requirements under the principal Act and improve the efficiency of the building consent process by, among other things,— allowing for national multiple-use approvals; and introducing a more efficient process for dealing with minor variations to building consents.
