This Act is the Brokering (Weapons and Related Items) Controls Act . The following provisions come into force : (which contains preliminary provisions): (which relate to registration of brokers and permits for brokering activity): (which makes it an offence to provide false or misleading information in an application for registration or for a permit). (which relate to various miscellaneous matters). The rest of this Act comes into force . The purpose of this Act is to— regulate the brokering of weapons and related items; and support New Zealand’s commitments under the Arms Trade Treaty. This Act applies to any brokering activity that is carried out— in any place (including any brokering activity that is carried out wholly or partially outside New Zealand) and by a person— who is in New Zea
