This Act is the Referendums Framework Act . This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. This Act is repealed on the close of 1 July 2022. The purpose of this Act is to provide for 1 or more referendums to be held in conjunction with the first general election after the commencement of this Act. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— means the Electoral Act 1993 means the first general election after the commencement of this Act means the Minister of the Crown who, under the authority of any warrant or with the authority of the Prime Minister, is for the time being responsible for the administration of this Act means a referendum declared by an Act or by an Order in Council made under to be a referendum for the purposes of this Ac
