This Act is the Consumer Guarantees Amendment Act . This Act, except the provisions specified in , comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. come into force on the day that is 6 months after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent. This amends the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. The Long Title is repealed. The following section is inserted after section 1: The purpose of this Act is to contribute to a trading environment in which— the interests of consumers are protected; and businesses compete effectively; and consumers and businesses participate confidently.
