This Act is the Children, Young Persons, and Their Families Amendment Act . This Act comes into force 6 months after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. This amends the Children, Young Persons, and Their Families Act 1989. Section 2(1) is amended by repealing the definition of and substituting the following definition: has the meaning given in inserted The following section is inserted after section : In this Act, means— a person against whom an offence is committed by a child or young person: a person who, through, or by means of, an offence committed by a child or young person, suffers physical injury or loss of, or damage to, property: a parent or guardian of a child or young person who is a victim within the meaning of , unless that parent or guardian is— the child or young
