This Act is the Amendment Act . This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. This Act amends the Act . The purpose of this Act is to amend the principal Act by removing the rule that a person who commissions a work is the first owner of any copyright in the work. Section 21 is repealed and the following section substituted: The person who is the author of a work is the first owner of any copyright in the work. However, where an employee makes, in the course of his or her employment, a literary, dramatic, musical, or artistic work, that person's employer is the first owner of any copyright in the work. Subsections (1) and (2) apply subject to any agreement to the contrary. Subsections (1) to (3) apply subject to sections 26 and 28. This section
