This Act is the Abortion Legislation Act . This Act comes into force on the day after the date of Royal assent. This Part amends the Contraception, Sterilisation, and Abortion Act 1977 (the ). Repeal the Long Title. Replace section 2 with: In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— — means intentionally causing the termination of a woman’s pregnancy by any means, including— by using a drug or combination of drugs; or by using an instrument; but does not include— any procedure intended to induce the birth of a live fetus believed to be viable; or any procedure to remove a dead fetus; or any contraceptive means an entity that provides abortion services means services provided by a qualified health practitioner to facilitate an abortion means an objection on the ground of conscience
