This Act is the Telecommunications (Interception Capability and Security) Amendment Act . This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. This Act amends the Telecommunications (Interception Capability and Security) Act 2013 (the ). After section 35, insert: Within 6 months of the commencement of the the Minister must establish a Technical Advisory Board with the purpose of increasing expertise in network security and consideration of proposed mitigations. Any matter to be referred to the Minister requesting the Minister to exercise his or her discretion or recommend the prescribing of an additional area of specified security interest must first be referred to the Technical Advisory Board for analysis and recommendations.
