This Act is the Standards and Accreditation Act . The following provisions come into force on the day after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent: ; and . The remainder of this Act comes into force on a date appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council. Any provision of this Act that is not already in force on the day that is 6 months after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent comes into force on that date. The purpose of this Act is to— make provision for standards and conformity assessment systems in New Zealand that— are consistent with international practice; and facilitate trade; and protect the health, safety, and well-being of individuals: provide for the development, approval, and maintenance of New Zealand Standards: make provision for acces
