This Act is the Royal Society of New Zealand Amendment Act . This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. This Act amends the Royal Society of New Zealand Act 1997. The purpose of this Act is to— incorporate humanities into the object and functions of the Royal Society of New Zealand: rename the Academy Council: amend the standard for the election of Companions of the Society: amend the election process for Councillors of the Society. Section 2 is amended by repealing the definitions of and and substituting the following definitions: means the bylaws of the Academy Executive Committee made under section 39 and for the time being in force means the Academy Executive Committee constituted under section 37 Section 2 is amended by adding the follow
