This Act is the Evidence (Giving Family Violence ) Amendment Act . This Act comes into force 6 months after Royal assent. This Act amends the Evidence Act 2006. After section 106B, insert: apply to a party or witness in a proceeding in the Family Court who is to give or is giving evidence of family violence. A party or witness in a proceeding in the Family Court who is to give or is giving evidence of family violence is entitled to give evidence in 1 or more alternative ways so that— the party or witness gives evidence in 1 or more of the following ways: by a video record made before the hearing: while in the courtroom but unable to see 1 or more other parties or witnesses about whom the evidence relates: from an appropriate place outside the courtroom, either in New Zealand or elsewhere:
