This Act is the New Zealand International Convention Centre Act . This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. The overarching purpose of this Act is to provide economic benefits to New Zealanders by improving New Zealand's capability to host medium- to large-scale international conferences and related exhibitions through the construction and operation of an international-standard convention centre. To this end, the Act— gives effect to the agreement between the Crown and SKYCITY that provides for— the construction and future operation of an international convention centre; and the granting of changes to the regulatory regime applying to the SKYCITY Casino at Auckland; and the imposition of obligations on SKYCITY to adopt certain harm minimisat
