This Act is the Police Amendment Act . In this Act, the Police Act 1958 1958 No 109 is called . This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. Section 2 of the principal Act is amended by inserting, after the definition of , the following definition: means a Deputy Commissioner of Police appointed under section 6 of this Act: Section 2 of the principal Act is amended by repealing the definition of , and substituting the following definition: means the New Zealand Police; and includes all members appointed to the police under this Act The principal Act is amended by repealing Part I, and substituting the following Part: The Governor-General in Council may appoint a Commissioner of Police.
