This Act is the Shark Cage Diving (Permitting and Safety) Act . This Act comes into force 6 months after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. The purpose of this Act is to regulate commercial shark cage diving operations and, in particular,— to establish a permitting regime for commercial shark cage diving operators: to ensure that potential adverse effects of commercial shark cage diving operations, including adverse effects on public safety, are avoided, remedied, or mitigated. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— or means a person who carries on a commercial shark cage diving operation or means an operation carried on for any form of hire or reward in which persons are transported, conveyed, conducted, or guided for the purpose of shark cage diving in New Zeal
