This Act is the Returning Offenders (Management and Information) Act . This Act comes into force on the day on which it receives the Royal assent. The purpose of this Act is to obtain information from returning offenders and establish release conditions for offenders returning to New Zealand following a prison sentence of more than 1 year in an overseas jurisdiction. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— means the Criminal Investigations (Bodily Samples) Act 1995 means the chief executive of the Department of Corrections means the Commissioner of Police has the meaning given to it in section 4 of the Policing Act 2008 means the District Court has the meaning given to it in section 9(1) of the Customs and Excise Act 1996 , in relation to a person, includes to move the person
