This Act is the Waitakere Ranges Heritage Area Act . This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. The purpose of this Act is to— recognise the national, regional, and local significance of the Waitakere Ranges heritage area; and promote the protection and enhancement of its heritage features for present and future generations. To this end, the Act— establishes the Waitakere Ranges heritage area; and states its national significance; and defines its heritage features; and specifies the objectives of establishing and maintaining the heritage area; and provides additional matters for Auckland Regional Council, Rodney District Council, Waitakere City Council, and certain other persons to consider when making a decision, exercising a power, or carry
