This Act is the Criminal Disclosure Act . This Act comes into force on a date to be appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council. The purpose of this is to promote fair, effective, and efficient disclosure of relevant information between the prosecution and the defence, and by non-parties, for the purposes of criminal proceedings. A general overview of the disclosure regime set out in this is set out in diagrammatic form below. This applies to all criminal proceedings that are commenced on or after the date on which this comes into force. This section is subject to . This binds the Crown.
